What advice do you have for women who may be uncertain of what the future holds for them at midlife?

Chapter 2 of our lives can be daunting or it can be a gift. It really is our CHOICE. The future is much brighter at midlife because we’re smarter, seasoned, have our health (and the industry), and have each others as partners and comrades. Consciously CHOOSE this part of Life! It provides instant empowerment.

What advice do you have for women who are looking to start a business?

1. Start NOW, regardless of your circumstances.

2. Start by BEING what you want to be, then DOING what you would do in this role, and then you will HAVE it all! [We usually do it backward, “when I HAVE (money), then I’ll DO such and such, and I’ll BE whatever it is you want to be.]

3. Surround yourself with seasoned entrepreneurs.

4. ASK for contribution!

5. Practice Kaizen (Japanese) a little bit of movement each day in the direction of choice!

What advice do you have for women who are frustrated with where they are in life right now?

Give yourself a break. It’s okay to be frustrated.

Great ideas are fostered by not liking the way things are.

Surround yourself with people who are not frustrated with where they are in life.

If you feel frustrated, it’s a sign that you are ready for a growth spurt!

A celebration of women who are on the move and making a difference will be held on June 20 in honor of the Second Annual Baby Boomer Diva Day.

The virtual celebration will showcase the outstanding contributions of women 40 and beyond, according to author and talk show host, Beverly Mahone, who created the special day last year. She says, “This is a day to celebrate us and what we bring to the table as business women and entrepreneurs!”

The five-hour online event will feature guest speakers, including International Speaker, Author, Inventor and Founder of the WECAI Network, Heidi Richards. “Heidi is one of the best examples of what it means to be a woman on the move and making a difference,” says Mahone. “She has more than 30 years of offline and online business experience under her hat and continues to set the pace for women like me to follow.”

In addition to the speakers, there will also be vendors showcasing their businesses and products. The Second Annual Baby Boomer Diva Day is in conjunction with the Baby Boomer Diva Web of Fame and Boomer Diva Nation, both created by Mahone. She says she wanted to recognize baby boomer women who were doing great things with their businesses but not getting noticed. “Hollywood and the media want us to believe a woman has to be young and beautiful to be successful but that’s simply not true, contends Mahone. “By the time we reach 40-years-old, we are in the prime of our lives. We’ve overcome obstacles. We’re more focused and determined to meet the challenges head-on in order to achieve success. Here’s to us!”
